The Hispanic International Business Institute (HIBI) is a 501 © 3 not for profit corporation created by the Hispanic Business Alliance. The overall objective of HIBI is to advance the formation and growth of Hispanic and other ethnic minority businesses in the State of Michigan. This will occur in three ways:  through educational training for entrepreneurs; assistance to entrepreneurs resulting in new business start ups and through assistance in growth needs for existing local and international businesses. A location for the center has yet been determined but we are proactively working with several property owners near in the focus area of interest for possible space for the center.

The HIBI will promote international business opportunities through the management and operation of the Metro Detroit International Business Center. The Center will serve as a platform that will foster the interaction of ethnic and minority business that are currently involved or are interested in developing their import/export business in Detroit near the Wayne /Detroit PortInternational Bridge. Although the HBA will be the principal agent of operations there will be additional stake holding organizations actively involved.

The premise of the Center will be to have diverse business interests creating a synergetic relationship that will encourage the movement of goods and services from one global region to another using Detroit as the hub of interaction and trade. Initially the International Business Center will recruit existing business that gross a minimum of $500,000 a year. Eventually the center will include an incubator for start-up businesses that are focused in International Business Commerce. Conversely the Center will also be a great vehicle to introduce goods, raw materials and the distribution opportunities of those products in the United States and globally. HIBI will have the capacity to offer a suite of Virtual offices which will include services such as; mail box, individual phone line, receptionist, cubical space, conference room and internet access.
